That is a happy water garden! We saw a gorgeous Bonsai garden when we were in Montreal several years ago. It was in the Japanese area of the Botanical Gardens. They also had an enormous pond that was chock full of koi; those suckers were HUGH! I don’t know what they do in the winter. It does get a mite nippy in Montreal.

Supposedly fish that are acclimated can overwinter in a pond that is frozen over... they just slow way down.
