Reports: Vikings Taylor. James fight in locker room
ESPN.com news services
Two members of the Minnesota Vikings got into a locker room scuffle Wednesday that featured a thrown chair, according to Twin Cities-area media reports.
According to reports in the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Brad Childress called a team meeting Wednesday after defensive end Erasmus James and running back Chester Taylor briefly squared off in the locker room after practice.
James reportedly threw a punch that landed near Taylor's right eye, and Taylor retaliated by throwing a chair. But when the chair accidentally hit left tackle Bryant McKinnie -- a friend of Taylor -- that brought an end to the incident, according to reports on the scuffle.
On Thursday, during the team's media access period, Taylor was seen with a shiner underneath his right eye. James, meanwhile, was added to the Vikings injury report Thursday because of a shoulder problem. It was not clear if the injury was sustained on the field or in the fight, according to the reports.
The team had no comment on the reports Thursday, according to The Star Tribune.
The Vikings, at 1-3, have lost three games in a row and travel to Chicago to play the Bears on Sunday.
PING!!!
For a moment there, I thought a player was actually named
“Taylor (dot) James”. Nothing surprised me any more.
What slays me is both of these dudes suck and do minimal play time.
Someone post the special Olympics pic
Winning cures all ills.
Losing excerbates them.
The chair was the first thing that DIDN’T get around McKinnie this season......
LOL!
LOL!
Well at least some of the Vikings showed some fire and spark. A lot better than my dead-in-the-water Falcons can say. Arrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! My birds really suck big time this year and can thank M. Vick for that.
It just might be.
My best friends today --"friend" in the truest sense of the word -- are guys I'd engaged in knockdown donnybrooks as a young man.
Didn't matter who won because after every single fight there existed something between us that wasn't there, before.
Respect.
'Till death we'll trust one another without a doubt, know our backs will always be covered and one willing to take one or many punches.
Pretty rare in this day & age of wimpishness being celebrated as a desirable quality.
I'm totally confident saying we share something today's metro males wouldn't get.
...bet the two MN combatants do, now. ;^)
old news!!!
It reminds me when Ricky Willaims got kicked out of the league right before the season years ago and then they fired the coach; it was not his fault.
For a moment there, I thought, "Huh??"
The Vikings play Dallas in Two weeks. Looks like they’re trying to get in game mode for the Cowboys. The Cowboys should handle Minnesota.
Whhoooaaa. Don't go so far out on a limb like that. /s
