MIDDLEBURG, FL -- Two pit bulls killed their owner in Middleburg Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at a home on Cosmos Road, which is south east of County Road 218 and Hibiscus Avenue.
The victim is identified as 42-year-old Tina Marie Canterbury. The dogs turned on her when she took out the trash this morning.
Authorites say the dogs also bit the woman's grown son in his neck. He's been treated at the scene for his injuries.
A family friend rushed over and shot one of the dogs. Both dogs ran away.
Deputies trapped one of the dogs right away and killed it. The second dog ran loose in the neighborhood for at least an hour before deputies caught it and killed it.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office says two red bone pit bulls were involved.
Authorities say the dogs have never attacked people before.
It beats staring at the wall.
After a real tough few days, my present employer allows me to unwind on the clock “researching potential future opportunities”, but I would much prefer staring at a wall full time, at higher pay and increased benefits!
Not nearly enough.
Do you also get company subsidized medical insurance?
My company provides excellent health care.
Where/how can I apply for a job in your company?
If you are under the age of 35, go talk to your nearest Navy recruiter.
Data on Pits is skewed by centuries of breeding dogs to kill.
“If you are under the age of 35, go talk to your nearest Navy recruiter.”
ROTFL I notice you didn’t get any replies on that one!!!
Damm ageists...
Hey, somebody has to be.
They were bred to kill other dogs, not humans. A fighting dog that cannot be handled by strange humans even when injured and in pain would never have been allowed in the ring back in the days when dog fighting was legal. In Britain it used to be customary to let your opponent wash your dog just before the fight, just to make sure there was nothing on him.
There are plenty of dogs that were bred to attack humans. Pits were not bred to attack humans and the number of attacks is a function of the popularity of the breed.
No need to state the obvious. I know why they were bred. I will let the data cited above speak for itself.
Labs are very popular breed and I don’t recall the last lethal attack of a lab on a human, especially its owner. Is this a function of the breed’s popularity?
Too many coincidences with this breed.
The dogs are Red Nose Pit Bulls
Red Nose is one of the original bloodlines of this breed.
These dogs recieve bad press because of idiots that raise them to fight, I have a Pit very good breed big head thick chest, canines like shark, 63lbs , people actually stop and stare at him, but the funny thing is he is scared of everyone but me, he trys to run away, he is a big baby.
When someone aproaches he shakes all over he is going on 2 years old, Its now toward a dog on his terf he is bad news.
German Shepards have attacked and killed more adults and kids than pits to date, theres no hype about them or rottweilers. The truth is cops dont like Pits because this is the one dog that can stop their police dogs. how about a tosa Ken might be Tosa Kin which meand Pit Killer, Thats a bad ass dog, no one is trying to bann them. Dobermans, Pits have recieved bad Promo because of idiots that fight them,
any dog can turn on their owner. Leave Pits alone punnish the people not the dog. Red nose comes from staffordshire Terrier rated one of the meanest ever bread, we owned one pound for pound that was a bad dog, we never made him fight he was just a fighter, but a great dog. But mess with him while he was eating bad mistake. He would turn, and he did till daddy knocked him out he never turned again. Our chickens would pick the ticks off him after that. But anyways raise a pit like a big baby he will be a big baby,
if not shootem in the head , with one shot not six like a Tupelo cop that cant shoot because hes doped up, Hey you know how you catch a crook in Tupelo & Nettelton MS, Remember the Badge Number. Hey have a great day
