Say we stipulate that Paris Hilton has little between her ears, and has had too many elsewhere. If Letterman had her on to vaunt his superiority, no credit to him.

I wouldn't say that
I respect her, however,
I can't bring myself

to not like the girl.
(And she doesn't look too bad
in a booking pic...)

LOL. There was a time. But it seemed to come undone around the Letterman/Leno/Tonight Show fiasco.

“I’m so old I remember when David Letterman was funny”

I guess I am still too young at 48yo. I never thought he was funny.

He used to go out
with a comedy writer
named Merrill Markoe.

She wrote for his show.
I think she had the talent.
Once the two split up

things kind of bogged down
into copies of the stuff
that used to be good.

Letterman used to be an alcoholic back in the 1970s. He’s apologized for his own public obnoxious behavior but he doesn’t seem to acknowledge it much these days.

I had watched Dave since working graveyard after high school, back when he was on NBC, had a full head of anchor hair, and a sense of humor. I quit him as a habit for good when the show became Bush Bash Central. The only reason I will tune is if a beauteous actress is the guest.

If I make the foolish choice of staying up that late, I watch Jimmy Kimmel. Reinforcing my wise decision was Dave's lame contribution to the Emmy Awards telecast; all the comedy/variety show writing nominees submit video segments in which every staff writer is named. The Colbert Report, Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Real Time with Bill Maher each did an original bit. Colbert's was the funniest, and even though Stewart's lampooned Alberto Gonzales, it was funny. Maher's was disgusting, but it was at least an original attempt to be funny.

What did Letterman do? He just had the writers' names read over video clips of Bush looking dumb (spitting, dropping the dog, the China door incident, bouncing the flat basketball, etc.). View video here. He probably thinks he's being anti-establishment in the tradition of the Smothers Brothers when in fact, he's being bilious and bitter.

if Paris was my daughter, I would jerk a knot in her skanky little butt, no, correct that, I would have already done so. It looks like money is all that matters to the Hilton family, I’d rather have honor,

Well, which is it? You'd "jerk...her skanky butt" or you'd "rather have honor." You've exhibited neither here.

I am surprised at you!

You sound like that liberal bimbo Laurie Dhue!

Letterman is a bully and a rude piece of sh!t .

I heard that late last year after he got to into a sparring match with O’Reilly, someone mailed that smarta$$ a
prank ‘thrax letter.

Could not happen to a nicer guy!

She is not a whore.

She has worth as an entertainer, an eye candy diversion, some mild amusment(as long as no one abuses her)

She is somewhat vacuous.

Yes, she came across well, except when she responded to a fan in the audience, her voice became squeaky for a moment.

Paris does know how to pout charmingly :-)
