GREEN BAY, Wis. -- You could say Annie the calico cat is a bit more adventurous than the ordinary cat.
She hitched a ride for nearly 1,000 miles in the back of a 100-degree moving van from the Green Bay area to Virginia last month, only to go roaming the woods in a strange area for 18 days.
The 10-year-old cat normally lives with Ann Roskam and her family in New Franken.
But she hopped into the moving truck of neighbors Michael and Christina Blackley at the end of July.
"She's definitely a pretty darn independent cat," Roskam said. "She likes to be outdoors all the time but she comes home every morning. When she didn't come home, we thought we'd lost her. We did go searching for her."The truck took three days to reach Roanoke, Va., with temperatures near 100 degrees inside.

Kitty Ping!
I’ve heard of a few traveling to or from the U.S. with military housing shipments. Amazing that they survive!
Another kitty summer travel adventure. Plus she has the same first name minus the “i”. =^..^=
Even there is kitties in the military! =^..^=
ROFLOL!! (now HE looks like a 2 star general with that face!)
That look reveals the true nature of cats, what’s really under the fur. The cute fluffy outer covering that most of them sport is a disguise to put us off guard. We readily take orders from cute fluffy critters, but tend to resist taking orders from critters that look like 5 star generals. Cats know this.
Puts me in mind of the line from Jurassic Park. “Clever girl!” just before the strike and the blood spatter.
