They apparently don't like to have their stuff copied, since they won't let me select the text. Therefore, link only.

PING!
One of youse (who shall be left anonymous) was saying this happened at a convenience store in Northern Virginia. Unfortunately, this appears to be a variation of the urban legend. It would have been great if it really happened.
This site (Snopes) is just too funny.
And the Bud story has been around in one form or another for some time, as the article says. The article mentions Beck beer in one version. I think just about every beer maker has been represented in one or another version of this story.
If the employee pulled the product, the company would have canned him. NO pun intended. Company motto, Profits before Patriotism.
If you’re using Firefox, just go to Tools->Options->Content, uncheck the Enable Javascript box, and hit OK. You’ll be able to copy the text then.
Annoying as heck! :)
I work with a bunch of people who get these stories in their e-mail and promptly send them to a W-I-D-E distribution list, that always includes me.
I then send them a link to Snopes, debunking their story. They never learn. They just keep doing it.
Starting with this story, I’m going to start a sort of reverse-Snopes campaign. I’m going to search Snopes for the most unbelieveable stories and start sending them to all my gullible friends.
Snopes is a Leftist site, run by Leftist activists, who use their False Authority Syndrome to further the Leftist Agenda.
They took down all the links to the Clinton Body Count and put a Bush Body Count in its place.
They also, in April of 2003, stated that they feel that since they are an “independent site” and must maintain their objectivity, they cannot morally support the soldiers of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
They live for web hits and ad dollars. Do not feed them. Do not give them the web traffic they so desperately need.
Thought you'd like to know what happened in a town north of Bakersfield California. After you finish reading this, please forward this story on to others so that our nation and around the world will know about those who laughed when they found out about the tragic events in New York, PA and the Pentagon. September 11th, a Budweiser employee was making a delivery to a convenience store in a town called McFarland. He knew of the tragedy that had occurred in New York. He entered the business to find two Arabs whooping and hollering and really cheering it up. It was obvious they were elated with what had happened earlier. The Budweiser employee went to his truck, called his boss and told him of the very upsetting event. He didn't feel he could be in that store with those horrible people. His boss told him, "Do you think you could go in there long enough to pull every Budweiser product and item our beverage company sells there? We'll never deliver to them again." The employee walked in, proceeded to pull every single product his beverage company provided and left with an incredible grin on his face. He told them never to bother and call for a delivery again. Budweiser happens to be the beer of choice for that community. Just letting you all know how Kern County handles this situation!! [And now the rest of the story: It seems that the Bud driver and the Pepsi man are neighbors. Bud driver called Pepsi driver and told him. Pepsi called his boss who told him to pull all Pepsi products as well!! That would include Frito Lay, etc. Furthermore, word spread and all vendors followed suit! At last report, the store was closed indefinitely. Good old American Passive-Aggressive Butt-Whoopin'!] Pass this along. America needs to know that we're all working together. |
Please know that we have investigated the matter and have found there is no truth to this story. We've checked extensively on this story in a number of different locations, with wholesalers and retail accounts and there is no report of a customer reacting in such a manner. Therefore, no product has been pulled from any retail account. Like all Americans, we at Anheuser-Busch along with our wholesalers were shocked and saddened by the tragic and violent terrorist attack on our country. We keep the victims and survivors in our thoughts.
Thanks. Hopefully, Snopes does not require an excerpt.
Budweiser? People actually drink that @ss-water?
They may be morons, but they're useful morons. If I see something online that smells like an urban legend, I will continue sending the corresponding snopes link.
I just checked, and the Clinton Body Count article is still there on Snopes; and a search brought up no article titled Bush Body Count.
Can you provide a link to substantiate your claims? I would like to know what's true.
Understand, this was back in ‘03 - they may have removed the bogus links. I haven’t been back since, nor do I care to go.
i hit “view” then “source”, copy page, hit reply in a fr post, pasted it, hit “preview” then copy and pasted the part I wanted to post.
of course the do, and so does “Little E” why do you think he drives the Buttwiper car. (that is some bad stuff).
Spread this news to all you friends on the Wide Wide World of Webs.
They’re also the best site around for debunking false stories floating around and pointed to as “common sense” tales. I hope they keep it up, and keep shattering people’s little myths. And if the took down the Clinton body count and don’t support the troops, it’s not going to make me trust their urban legend information any less.
Sorry, your post made no sense to me. Did you forget your sarcasm tag?
Clinton Bosy and Bush Bidy? Who are they ... some kind of new Rap act?
Haven’t you noticed how spelling and other errors creep into these “I heard from a Friend of a Friend” e-mails
