Did I mention there was a Liberty Ann Justice Smith (don’t remember the last name, but it doesn’t really matter) in the paper back home awhile back? I mean...Liberty isn’t toooo bad a name, but...ungh.
Um. There’s something to be said for nice, strong, old-fashioned names, But then again there’s old fashioned and there’s just a little... archaic.
Which brother’s kid is this? Aren’t both their wives pregnant?

Oh yeah, I remember now, your niece number 2. Forget what her name was though I do remember niece 1. Your family seems to go in for slightly unusual names.
Second niece (my god-daughter) is Bernadette Lucia. Actually not all *that* unusual, but a bit, I suppose.
Considering that all of us in my generation have good, solid, standard Anglo-Saxon type names, I guess my brothers are rebelling a little. ;-)
Personally, I like a lot of the simpler names. And we never used a lot of the good ones. Don’t have a Michael or an Andrew or a Paul, or a Mary or a Katherine or an Anne...just to name a few.
And ev'ry one was a Henry...wouldn't have a Willie or a Sam (or a Sam)...

See, the problem with either Bernadette or Bertrand is that they just don’t shorten well. At least, “Bertie” has been out since the time of Jeeves and Wooster, and “Bernie” is almost as tragic for a girl as it is for a boy.
There’s “Bert”...that’s not too bad. Bernadette just isn’t very shortenable. They don’t shorten it.

Yeah but probably it will get shortened at some point... or she’ll get saddled with a nickname.
(cheating on my homework and looking over story notes) Did I mention that thanks to time shifting and spells, characters who were born ten or fifteen years apart end up the same age? That makes for headaches on my part.

No I didn’t... I didn’t watch much Bewitched ever...
I dunno...now that I think about it, every one of the girls in the family (with the single exception of one sister-in-law) have three syllable names, and primarily use their full names. Bernadette has more letters, but it isn’t any longer to say aloud.
Er...I meant to say “at least three syllable names”
