The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Some folks is just wierd! That’s cool about Seamus! The last time I went to have bloodwork done, in advance of a physical, the lab folks had a beautiful betta in a jar with a plant in it. The fish swam in and out through the roots of the plant. Is that what yours does?

Heh...at the moment, he doesn’t have a real plant. He has a plastic one, which gives him something to hide behind, but is kinda stiff and prickly. I think he’s used to real ones, because occasionally he tries to swim through this one, bangs his nose, and shakes himself like a dog. Poor little guy...

I may check out plants at Petsmart or something this weekend.

I think it’s time to revive one of my old favorite taglines, just in time for NaNo...

Looking at Nano-notes, I have the following:

1) stuck up sticky beak

2) not Karl Rove - but I can’t remember when that came up

Okay, can’t watch it all from here. But what’s a little frightening is that I knew a contestant who played the trumpet for her talent right around that same era. She didn’t win her local pageant though.

speaking of pagents. Intern-officemate is going to be Miss. South Carolina for Halloween. Said she’s been trying to practice that speech and that it turns out it’s really hard to memorize.

*snork*

I. AM. HOME.

via two more conversations of the type previously discussed that left me wanting to scream as previously described. The kicker is that I had to go home and couldn't finish dressing down everyone who needed it. It's really just one team and a few individuals, but they're really talented at making a mess.

via Walmart where I spent more time in line buying dinner and a movie than it took to put dinner and movie in my shopping basket.
