Norway's Food Safety Authority will establish a committee to examine the question of what crabs can feel during the boiling.

It's one thing for a perpetually-hysterical "animal rights" pressure group to spew forth their usual idiotic statements; it's quite another for a Governmental body to give such infantile blatherings credence.

Crabs are scavengers, I don’t think it would be safe to eat them raw.

The Japanese have a variety of crab they set on the table. Then the chef detaches the tail with all the meat. The rest of the crab crawls around the table while folks eat.

If you put these little fellows in flowing water (a tank with a really good filter would be sufficient) for a couple of days, all the nasty stuff will come out and the meat will be perfect for sashimi.
