BRISTOL, CONNECTICUT (TICKER) -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. apparently will join forces with NASCAR's most successful team.
Earnhardt is set to announce his intention to join Hendrick Motorsports in 2008, according to a report on ESPN.com on Tuesday.
NASCAR's most popular driver, Earnhardt has scheduled a news conference for Wednesday at 11 a.m. EDT, when he likely will officially announce his intentions for next season.

Good move. Hendrick has the COT technology down pretty good. He drives for them a few years, picks up the tech, and then moves Junior Motorsports up to Nextel. Once he gets the motors dialed in, Junior Motorsports will be unstoppable
Sweet..... can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. This may be his best last chance to fulfill part of his promise. I, for one, wish him luck and will be pulling for him.

Yes, Kyle Busch has been groaning about getting out of his contract and has been a royal PITA to Hendrick this season.
Looks like Busch’s going to get his wish and Hendrick will now stable the two most popular drivers in the sport.
Jeff has an ownership stake in HMS so he’s not complaining either.
The only monkey wrench in the spokes is that many, if not most, of Jr’s fans are rabid Gordon haters, will be interesting to see how that plays out.

With Jr. headed to Hendrick I will now have one big happy family.
I know a coupla fans that are shifting allegiance to Tony Steward. I’ve needled them since ‘95 about Gordon’s success that they can’t stand the possibility that Little E could end up at Hendrick.

So will Gordon, Johnson and E Jr be the 3 amigoes or maybe the 3 muskateers. Or maybe with Casey they’ll be the 4 horsemen.
This will drive the Jr fans nuts. And Jr. will switch to the #5. LOL!!
