Upland, Calif. (AP) -- A twin-engine plane with two people on board lost power and slammed into homes Monday while trying to land, authorities said.
"We do have injuries," said Ian Gregor, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration.
The Upland Fire Department said it had no immediate information.
The plane came to rest atop a garage without causing a fire. Its wing rested on the roof of another home.
The Piper Seneca was approaching Cable Airport when it lost power and crashed into three homes on Blossom Circle. It was unclear where the flight originated.
Weather didn't appear to be a factor. It was sunny with no clouds or fog.

Y’all OK?
GMTA ... Doug, check in please.
Glad I wasn’t pilot in charge on that one.
Wonder if that twin was old enough to have to worry about carb icing on descent?
Or maybe it’s that nagging “Nah, we got plenty o’ fuel” ...
Icing? This time of year?
But then I’m in Florida and it is hot as hell already.
*cough*fuel starvation*cough*
icing in the carb can happen at above-freezing ambient temps. The carb is constantly evaporating fuel in the venturis, and if you descend rapidly from altitude ( 3 degrees per thousand feet) with the right humidity/temp/rate of descent/power setting, you can ice your carb in warm weather. When that happens your get, um ‘poor’ engine performance.
Been there, almost done that. CARB HEAT!!! (Tri-Pacer)
I understand that. Just unless you are in thunderclouds hereyou generally aren’t going to find that this time of year here.
I climb to about 8500feet to find cool air this time of year here in South Florida.
RV6A.

I see you have a very nice ‘co-pilot’ ;-)
BTW - I didn’t know you were/are a pilot. I would not have explained the obvious to ya otherwise. ;-)
FR EXCLUSIVE: Did Hillary Try to Silence Doug from Upland (plane crash in Upland)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1844729/posts
Doug was the first to report this...I think.
Ia that you Blueflag?
If so where are you at?
About 15 years. I live at fl37 an airpark about 45 miles north west of West Palm Beach.
Going flying tomorrow to maybe Sebring or Venice. Will fly low and slow on the way about 85 or 90 at about 100 feet then return in th heat at maybe 7500feet and about 160m.p.h.
RVs are great.
LOL. No, that’s not me.
And 160 MPH exceeds my VNe ;-p
