Elephant kills its two handlers
The Associated Press
HANOI, Vietnam -- A domesticated elephant killed two handlers in northern Vietnam apparently after being forced to work without eating, an official said Monday.
Le Van Lanh, 42, and his assistant Ha Van Hoang, 46, died Saturday after being gored by the elephant's tusk in the forest in Truong Xuan village, village chief Ngan Van Thiep said.
The one-tusked male elephant, which is more than 20 years old, apparently became angry and attacked its handlers after being forced to haul more trees from the forest without being fed Saturday morning, he said.
Thiep said that the elephant, which killed another worker in 1994, was being chained and that village authorities have asked the provincial government for advice on what they should do with it.
Vietnam bans the hunting of elephants, which poachers value highly for their tusks.
Some muslim country could probably use him.....
I get cranky when I’m not fed, too.

D'oh!
My wife said I do not get fed if I do not fix the leaky faucet in the kitchen.I am starving and she is shopping.I fixed the faucet and if she does not feed me I am going on a rampage.I will surely stomp up and down.Hot dogs will work though!
Clearly the animal was being abused and likely had been hurt in unmentionable ways for quite some time.
Hate to think what punishment “the provincial government” of Vietnam will dole out. It’ll be a horror I am sure.
Note to self: Feed elephant.
