PARIS GETS OFF EASY
May 17, 2007 -- Paris Hilton's pals tried to get her sentence thrown out completely. That didn't work, but the heir-head will serve only 23 days of her 45-day jail sentence in a "special needs housing unit."
The sentence reduction is the result of credit for "good behavior," said L.A. County sherrif spokesman Steve Whitmore. Good behavior, according to the sherrifs office, is showing up for one's scheduled court date. However, most perps don't get amnesty for showing up in court when required.
Hilton's luxe accomodations are in a 2,200-inmate facility where police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile clientele reside when they've behaved badly.
The celebutard will be separated from the general inmate population and gets an hour outside of her cell to bathe, watch television and talk on the phone, said Whitmore.
Hilton was sentenced to jail for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. A judge ordered her to report to jail by June 5.
A call to her lawyer, DUI specialist Richard Hutton, was not immediately returned. Hilton's flack, Elliot Mintz, declined to comment.

It's a lot like driving past a really bad car accident on the freeway...you just can't help yourself but to sneak a peek.
I know...I'm there too.
Still, it would be great if Paris comes out of her 23 days of lock-up sporting some gnarly looking prison tats and maybe a scar or two from a jail riot.
Anyways...Bill O'Reilly will probably be all over this story tonight on FNC. Maybe he and Geraldo will go to blows over Paris' 23 day sentence?
23 days is good. I always thought 45 days was way too much considering a regular guy would not get that many.
I always thought she was ‘kinda’ hot...
Then I saw her explicit video....
Since then, every time I see her, I think of a big Salami being thrown into a hallway...
On second thought... maybe she could make a ‘prison’ movie!
I’m sure there’s a collective sigh of relief coming from Hollywood now that it’s been reaffirmed that justice can still be bought.
Didn’t she light up a doobie the other day?
Nobody can tell me they didn’t think about the double meaning of
“Paris gets off easy”
At a bare minimum they should take away her phone. Let her stew in her cell and think about what she did to get thrown in jail.
easy, often, what’s the diff?
Come on...it’s the New York Post.
The Post once had the famous headline “Headless Body Found In Topless Bar”
Dude, if I were Paris, I would totally come out of jail with a fake tattoo of a teardrop under one eye.
The only part of this story that makes sense is the use of “Paris” and “easy” in the same sentence.
Jeeze, I’ve never see that photo before. Is that razor stubble?
I saw a photo of Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore passing one from their beach chairs in Hawaii. That never made any noise, nor has the video of Lindsey doing coke in a UK bathroom. Must be some serious damage control going on in Hollywood. (Read: legal threats)
As much as I can’t stand this chick, I must admit that I know a few folks who have had numerous DUI’s and never served a day in jail other than the initial overnight stay following the arrest. The jail time was extreme in her case....
