WHILE RESEARCHING SOMETHING, I CAME UPON THIS LITTLE SNIPPET OF RUMOR IN WIKI:
Margaret Carlson is an American journalist and a columnist for Bloomberg News.
[snip]
She is unrelated to television journalist Tucker Carlson. Carlson has been romantically linked with former Senator and potential Presidential candidate Fred Thompson. While Thompson denied the rumors, the rumors have persisted in the Washington DC gossip circuit and are reported to be hurting Thompson's presidential aspirations.

Has anyone else heard of this?.....
To: Red Badger
I heard that Margaret had stalked Fred... I’m not sure if Tucker did.

Is this the same Margaret Carlson who used to write for Time Magazine?
I can’t imagine Fred would have an interest in her. She’s goofy and a knee-jerk liberal.
But then, one never knows what someone is thinking.

Margaret Carlson? I could believe Maureen Dowd (her younger version), she was kind of good looking. But Margaret Carlson? Hard to imagine why Thompson would have any connection with her to get to where they could have a relationship, and she’s not exactly the kind of woman you would go out of your way to have relations with.
Explaining further. I can imagine that a good conservative columnist might have enough contact with a conservative lawmaker that a relationship could develop not based on looks.
But I don’t know how an unattractive liberal columnist would ever get to where there was a relationship with a conservative lawmaker.

Carlson may be to Thompson what Mo Dowd is to Michael Douglas.

Do you mean to tell me Margaret Carlson is still running around loose??? I haven’t heard about her in years. I thought somebody had finally locked her up in the looney bin.

Well, I met one of his dates, and she was a knockout. I cannot imagine stooping to a Margaret Carlson, at twice the age and all those wrinkles.

All in all ... this is another article (similar to one yesterday here on FR and seen/heard elsewhere) to make a "candidate" unattractive should he decide to throw his 'hat in the race'.
Facts on his character, principles and where he stands on the issues are what is needed. For all candidates. Not rumor and innuendo ... your basic Democrat tactic to drowned out any facts.
