Can you describe the blossom, stopem?
Newsbee, I wonder if it was Cimicifuga-Brunette?
I have the Cimicifuga-Racemosa, the foliage is lacy, but otherwise resembles Peony in growth habit and stature.
Depending just how Deep in the Heart of Texas stopem is, it might be unfurling it's bloom.
I will see if I can find a graphic of the one you mentioned IowaGranny, I am in North Texas near Dallas, BigD.
The color of the leaves is close IowaGranny, but the leaves are frilly
and the flower that comes up the middle is yellow.
Hello.
My computer is back amongst the living after I hit the wrong button and locked it up early yesterday morning.
I have the laundry done, Mt Mail tamed and several flower beds weeded. I am ready to begin transplanting stuff. I continue to be amazed at how many things were frozen off and are refusing to return after the string of late spring freezes.
WHAT I’VE ALREADY LEARNED TODAY: Rabbits can SWIM.
And if I ever attempt to drown another one, I will see to it that I don’t let go of the pitch fork until it quits squirming.
It might be Cimicifuga, ‘Dark Star’. Wish I could post a picture of ‘Dark Star’, very striking plant.
So much to learn.......so little time. ;o)
