Leave it to Oklahoma to declare Watermelon a “vegetable”. What was the state fruit? Tomato?

I think Tomato is a fruit... not sure, but somewhere down the line I remember hearing that.

Ok, who else had a grandmother who would put down layers of newspaper on the picnic table then serve cold watermelon on a hot day?

Well technically it is a vegetable(part of the Cucurbitaceae family of veggies). In use a fruit,but in reality a vegetable. Tomatoes are the opposite in use they are a vegetable in reality a fruit.
