My definition of terrorism is an act that is committed to cause terror AND has a political motivation to it.
Well, that was my first thought. It's disgusting that people, regardless of which party they belong to, feel the need to turn every horrific tragedy into a political football game.

Both the US AND China say they are a Bin-Laden linked group. For the CHINESE to even admit this is huge...
And remember, the ETIM tried to blow up the US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan in May of 2002...
Perp was 24 and just arrived from China less than a year ago.
Unlikely he learned to be so proficient in firearms in the last year of being a new student immigrant to rural VA.
Most people in China would be fearful of firearms, since only the military/police have them and possession of them by a civilian is probably a capital offense.
That leaves the probable answer that he is former ChiCom military, who was sent here by the Chinese government for graduate studies.
Assuming that he wasn’t being directed (unlikely), his psycho killing spree has probably a great embarrassment for the Chinese government.
The question is when the LEOs determined his identity and that he was a Chinese citizen, did they call the State Dept. and is his identity being squelched as a favor to the Chinese government in order for them to build an alternate background on this guy, that doesn’t show him as former ChiCom military?

Uighurs aren’t muslim Han. They are Turkish/Afghani mix. Don’t look Han at all.
Muslim Han are Hui, which look and speak Chinese (only difference is they are muslim and don’t eat pork).
I doubt this guy is Uighur though. He seems to be just a highly discontended Chinese man (assuming rumors are true). Still, there are witnesses who describe the shooter as 6 feet tall, so he has to be a very tall Chinese man.

Well I got it wrong with being a ChiCom, apparently he was S. Korean. I bet he is ex-military though.
