In fact it sounds pretty wussy to me.
Hmmm. Avril and Britney.
A double order of Pop Tarts.
This is an example of what Freud called the “narcissism of small differences.” Avril is three steps away from Britney — a bit upmarket, a little more bohemian, but still the same manufactured product — so she fights with her very life to keep three steps away from the crazy, drunken, bald chick.
Sounds more like, “I need to generate publicity for me sucky new album.”
She’s a fine example ...

The first time I ever saw Avril, she was being interviewed on some low-rent TV show. She was going on and on and on about being an “artist” and how she was “born to be a poet” and I was thinking, “You sound totally illiterate. You’re 17. You’re a manufactured, flavor-of-the-month pop star, and you’re too dumb to realize it. Poet my a**!”
Avril is one hurtin’ unit. She’s got deep issues that nobody in her inner sanctum of friends and hangers-on have the tools to help her with. I saw her in her interview with Oprah some time back, and her body language was absolutely tortured. Sitting cross-legged in a chair, dodging eye contact with the cameras...it was hard to watch. Every move she made just practically screamed, “I’m not comfortable in my own skin!” What popularity she has is testament to how many others out there can personally identify with her. She’s talking to people with inner pain and they hear someone who’s coming from a place of firsthand experience.
Just lotsa achin’ hearts out there with no view to a cure.
Avril Lavigne Hates Britney Spears.....
Just when I thought I couldn’t care any less.....
Avril Lavigne, fearing her 15 minutes of fame had ended, has lashed out at Britney Spears, whose 15 minutes of fame ended 20 minutes ago, in hopes of winning 5 more minutes of fame. We’re not even sure if “Avril” isn’t just a typo.
Given the choice, I’d rather hit Avril. Of course, I’d take Gwen Stafani over either one of them.
Seems to me Spears has been busy raising her children rather than trying to extend her 15 minutes of fame...
