HYDERABAD, India An elderly couple in south India was so devastated by the death of their dog they committed suicide.
Police say the couple left behind a note saying they were ending their lives over the loss of "Puppy."
The 66-year-old man and his 63-year-old wife were found hanging in their home yesterday after neighbors told police about a foul smell coming from the home.
The note also requested the police to inform their relatives about their death and the couple left behind money for their funeral.
The man's nephew says "They were so shocked and saddened by the loss of their companion that they performed a formal funeral. They wrapped its body in cloth and buried in the backyard of their home."

The good news. They both came back as Whataburgers.
Dog gonnit!
Oh, well.
Stupid is as Stupid does....
There was the solution to their problem, right in the dog's name. As in "Puppy", go get another one.
As long as the subject has come up, it's been a year last night, since we had to unexpectedly put our 13 yr English Springer Spaniel to sleep. She developed something called, 'bloat', that evening. The vet told us there was nothing they could do, and in a matter of a few hours, she was gone. That was hard to take. We still haven't gotten another dog. Sometimes I think I want another, but for some reason I can't bring myself to do it.

Hoookay...(backing away slowly)...
Hey, I love my pets too but I won't swing from the shower curtain over them.
So sad that they didn't think they had anything else to live for.
Sad that someone would dtake human lives over the life of a mere dog. Dogs can be replaced. Humans can't.
An aweful lot of strange things are happening down under.
Geesm I am surprised this does not happen in America.
