The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been informed that Menu Foods, Inc., a private-label pet food manufacturer based in Statesville, Ontario, Canada, is recalling all its "cuts and gravy" style dog and cat food produced at its facility in Emporia, Kansas between December 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007.
Menu Foods, Inc. has identified the potentially contaminated products on the Internet at www.menufoods.com/recall.
IAMS is on the list.
I used the special kitty pouches and my 12 month old cat is dying from renal failure. Even though it is in a can you shouldn't take that chance.
purina is recalling one of its dog foods. I'll have to let you know a little later the exact one.
"purina is recalling one of its dog foods. I'll have to let you know a little later the exact one."
The only Purina I use is dry, and I think it is unaffected, I do use canned Special Kitty, but it seems to be OK too.
My kitty was a Fancy Feast "junkie." She'd do anything for a can. Had to let her go last December because of advanced CFR. She was only 5/12. Her regular food was Science Diet dry. Every now and then I fed where with the canned wet. So now I'm wondering. . .
The best I can tell this only applies to pouch products and the only ones affected were the one's using a new supplier of wheat gluten between Dec.3 and March 6.
Thanks, I had to let my kitty go on December 2nd. Hardest thing I've ever done.
Now they are saying can and pouch wet foods. Just thought you'd like to know.
Today they posted can as well as pouch special kitty cat food. Thought you'd like to know.
I've only been using the canned Special Kitty for the last couple of months, I can't find a list that includes the cans.
My, I still only see pouch Special Kitty, 3 oz. on the web site...can you give me a link that may be different?
From the news tonight, it sounds like the list is expanding. I went to the website but it didn't look like it was updated. The first lawsuit has been filed, that sure didn't take long.
