Oh man. I hate to hear that about your roses. Keep us posted. Some of them may simply be late recovering from dormancy.
I was afraid of that when we had such a long mild period (into January). Many of my roses were too large to cover...I put mulch around the bases but I don't think it helped some of them.
Gardening isn't for sissies, that's for sure. I will simply replace them with CANADIAN roses, which are tough.
I grow several Canadians, and I've decided they just get TOO BIG. I'm not going to plant any more of them.
Pruning is a huge problem with Canadians. It's such a waste of good blood.
wow if I would not have went back to read what you were talking about.
lol
I can see where you'd think I'm a blood thirsty old biddie by only reading the last post.
I flunked the first grade because I thought I was supposed to entertain everyone by talking to everyone......during class.
LOL, Roomey thinks my Fairy Rose is out to get him, whenever he mows.
Well, the monitor got zapped during a very strong wind storm we had. The electric cables between Waco and here came together and ruined a lot of surgers in our little town and did some damage to some of the computers. Luckily, mine was the monitor. So I have a new and bigger one and new speakers. What an improvement.
I sure did miss everyone. I thought of y'all a lot and wondered what was going on. Is john back from N Mexico yet?
I thought a lot about kayak, but I saw her on today, so that's good news. What went on the 3 weeks I was gone?
We are getting ready to head out to church, folks (and us) take prepared dishes and we eat, I really like doing this.
Yes!! You are back. I missed you.
Great to see you.
We endured 2 different power outages here in Iowa on succeeding weekends here in Iowa while your were 'gone',
Other than that, the dimwit Democrats in the Iowa GA raised the price of cigs by $1.36 per pack.
They are about to destroy Iowa's Right to Work law. It will be a very nasty debate. I will give you a blow by blow, play by play tomorrow when the debate begins.
Evening ma'am.
signing off until tomorrow
I will say one thing, though. That rose is iindestructible, and in the spring it is really beautiful. I gave my sister a start from it (it occasionally sends out suckers) and hers is growing huge, as well.
For thorns, though, you can't beat New Dawn. Those things are like claws.
#38 Woo hoo!!! Ouch, that hurt.
5.56mm
Good morning! I guess between you and me we sure did kill the thread!
