It appears someone has actually finally made a movie of Point of Impact - "Shooter", opening around 23 March.

Yep - the first Bob Lee Swagger movie! I can't say I agree one-hundred percent with the casting of Mark Wahlberg as Bob Lee, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt till I see it. Will Stephen Hunter be reviewing The Shooter in the WaPo?

Hunter rocks. His book on the attempted assassination of Truman is a great read, too.

Man, when I saw that trailer, I never once considered that it was a Swagger book. Is danny glover in this movie? Damn, I swore I'd never go see another one of his movies. What a dilemma.

I was wondering if they were one and the same. All the novels about 'Bob' and his father are great!

The cynic in me asks how are they going to liberal it up? Never knew it was a book until now and seeing the tailer, I thought he hero was against mean old uncle Sam and NWO. Please tell me I'm wrong.

Never knew it was a book until now

The trailer that's on the net right this minute is not the one I saw in the theater. I'm a bit concerned about how they puffed the story to make it modern ..... Stephen Hunter did a fine job and in my opinion ... should have left it as written.

Do yourself a favor ..... get the book and read it before you see the film. It's awesome.

fingers crossed in hopes this excellent story doesn't suck on the big screen

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question ... have to wait for the movie. Drat.

YES! Updated for 21st cent. no doubt - Iraq War or Gulf War I vet - but looks great nevertheless!
