Yep - the first Bob Lee Swagger movie! I can't say I agree one-hundred percent with the casting of Mark Wahlberg as Bob Lee, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt till I see it. Will Stephen Hunter be reviewing The Shooter in the WaPo?

Hunter rocks. His book on the attempted assassination of Truman is a great read, too.

Man, when I saw that trailer, I never once considered that it was a Swagger book. Is danny glover in this movie? Damn, I swore I'd never go see another one of his movies. What a dilemma.
To: DuncanWaring
I was wondering if they were one and the same. All the novels about 'Bob' and his father are great!
To: DuncanWaring
The cynic in me asks how are they going to liberal it up? Never knew it was a book until now and seeing the tailer, I thought he hero was against mean old uncle Sam and NWO. Please tell me I'm wrong.

Never knew it was a book until now The trailer that's on the net right this minute is not the one I saw in the theater. I'm a bit concerned about how they puffed the story to make it modern ..... Stephen Hunter did a fine job and in my opinion ... should have left it as written.
Do yourself a favor ..... get the book and read it before you see the film. It's awesome.
fingers crossed in hopes this excellent story doesn't suck on the big screen
