Late Doors frontman Jim Morrison is to make an unlikely comeback - an unreleased song featuring the rocker has been found.

"Woman in the Window" will be featured on a forthcoming album by rockers Satellite Party. The new song will feature both Morrison and vocals from Satellite Party.

An industry insider says, "To hear Morrison performing on a new track is obviously going to be a dream come true for fans. It's being tipped as a massive hit."

The icon died of heart failure in 1971, at age 27.

If this is a Morrison/Doors song why dub in this new band?

Why adulterate the song?

If the new band wants to remake the song they should start from scratch.

Heart failure? 27? Unusual to say the least.

I think they left out the "massive, drug induced" part. Details, details..

I wonder if this is a "lost" song or one that has circulated on bootlegs for decades.

There are "lost" songs by the Beatles that could be hits if moldy oldies radio would play album tracks.

I like to karaoke Touch Me. I was never impressed with his voice and thought that song was the goofiest of all. I remember when it was first released. I actually commented to my friend that it sounded like a nerd (although I don't know that that is the word we used back then) trying to sound cool, and missing the mark.

But art is subjective.

It could be similar to the American Prayer album that was made after Morrison died if it is only his vocal track that was recorded. At least that is my understanding of American Prayer, that the instruments, etc. were laid down to vocal tracks and poems that he had recorded without instrumentation.

As a side note, Satellite Party is a group of musicians fronted by Perry Farrell. Janes Addiction did a great cover of L.A. Woman so it might not be so bad. However, Perry seems to be enthralled as of late with electronica, dub and hip hop so who knows what it will sound like.

"Not Guilty" ... by George Harrison, 1968 during the White Album sessions. Although I wouldn't particularly term it as a *hit*, its got some interesting twists and turns in the same jazzy mode as "Savoy Truffle", which did make it onto the album (and which completely rocks out, IMO :)

I love the Doors, but know that they would have evolved into a Vegas lounge act had Mojo Risin lived.

They helped usher in the disco & pop sound of the early 70's... very quietly with the song "Peace Frog".

Great. Now I will have that addictive bass and keyboard line from Peace Frog in my head for the rest of the week.

Actually I am in sole possession of Paul McCartney’s long lost original lyrics to “Yesterday”*. As you Beatlemaniacs out there know, “Yesterday” was originally written as an instrumental titled “Scrambled Eggs”. And now, for your pleasure, I present the original lyrics to “Scrambled Eggs” i.e. “Yesterday”.

Scrambled Eggs
You’re not half the yolk you used to be
There’s an omelet hanging over me
Oh I believe in Scrambled Eggs

Sunny-side
Coddled, poached or even lightly fried
All have runny yellow yolks inside
Oh I believe in Scrambled Eggs

Why it had to burn
I don’t know I just can say
Turned the flame too high
Now I yearn for Scrambled E-e-e-eggs

Scrambled Eggs
You’re not half the yolk you used to be
There’ll be no more French toast for me
‘Cause I believe in Scrambled Eggs

Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum,
Scrambled Eggs.

Please send me money, preferably in cash, so I can finance a recording of this lost classic. I’m currently in negotiations with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the soon to be reunited N’Sync. Or perhaps a digitally reconstructed Jim Morrison could record it.

* OK I actually wrote these lyrics years ago as a lark. You can still send me money however - :)

Thanks! I wonder what year the original song was from.
