But hey, maybe it's just me. So if the rest of you haven't got your Kwanza gifts yet. There's still time to stick it to the White Christians by going to Walmart.com and buying your Kwanza garb today!
I'm certainly pro-Christmas, but how is it sticking it to Christians to buy Kwanza crap?
In 1971 Karenga, Louis Smith, and Luz Maria Tamayo were convicted of felony assault and false imprisonment for assaulting and torturing two women from the United Slaves, Deborah Jones & Gail Davis. [4] A May 14, 1971 article in the Los Angeles Times described the testimony of one of the women: "Deborah Jones, who once was given the Swahili title of an African queen, said she and Gail Davis were whipped with an electrical cord and beaten with a karate baton after being ordered to remove their clothes. She testified that a hot soldering iron was placed in Ms. Davis's mouth and placed against Ms. Davis's face and that one of her own big toes was tightened in a vise. Karenga... also put detergent and running hoses in their mouths, she said." They also were hit on the heads with toasters.
I refuse to recognize Kwanza.
> Then again, most of my family celebrates a holiday that was created to coincide with the Pagan solstice. They claim it is to celebrate the birth of their lord, but he was born in MARCH (when the Romans took the census), NOT December. ;-)
I have to be careful here; I am tempted to take all of this too seriously. Kwanza, indeed! lol Maybe there should be a registry of the faithful, so that, at a later time, and if ever necessary, we can identify some of society's real fools and tools. lol
