Depends on which GL you are talking about. The original Alan Scott's ring had no effect on wood. Hal Jordan's ring could not affect anything that was yellow.
Both of them could easily produce green kryptonite though, making a pretty short day for Superman.

My money's on GL. He could turn into anything, and he can turn himself into green kryptonite, of course.
