You bring up a good point regarding commas. So maybe you can help me diagram this sentence:

A woman without her man is nothing.

I say the sentence is fine as it stands. The missus says it needs commas, like this

A woman, without her, man is nothing.

What do you think? Should we ask SWAMPSNIPER?

This is a fun thread, dontcha think? Nothing trite, banal or crap like.

OK I ran it past Mrs. L who, among other things, has flawless diction.

She says the sentence properly constructed should read this way:

A man without his woman is nothing.

No commas are required because men would only get confused by them.
