Now this sounds like a goooood country song...
Landed Gentry in jail, almost.
It's really bizarre behavior for a high profile "tough guy" like him.
Famous folks with lots of $$$ do some really stupid stuff.
Maybe David Blaine was the judge???
The irony is how 'moral' so many of their recent songs are---
People Change etc....
I can't even listen to them anymore.....hrmpt.
Sometimes the animals win. Which isn't a bad thing....
I don't even hunt on my in-laws game ranch, because it just don't feel like hunting when you're in a blind above a planted meadow next to a pond with all kinds of corn scattered around.
I like to hunt.
It's not like wild bear are rare in that neighborhood.
Now I have a good excuse Not to buy his cd's. My husband loves them and now I don't. He should have gotten a bigger fine and I still say he should be made to pooperscoop after bears. I have no problem with hunting but I do have a problem with frauds and liars. I wouldn't shoot a captive bear or deer. Both these guys ought to be ashamed of themselves. Hmmm maybe I can get away with breaking those cd's. I had to hear MG all summer and I started to get really tired of them.
Gentry's publicist released the following statement after the plea was announced.
I love animals. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for animals, and especially bears. It was a shame what happened to Cubby.
I would like to emphasize that this was an unnusual incident, in that Cubby just refused to dance and I, being a performer, found this to be unnacceptable.
Cubby knew the rules for dancing bears and what the consequences for failing to dance would be. He made his choice. I did my duty to the profession of entertainment. And we both are suffering the consequences.
I thought as much. The bear needed killin'. But cheezelouise, Gentry shoulda taken the tutu off'n him before he put the game tag on...
The only hunting I've done has been with a camera, not a rifle or a shotgun. In fact, the idea of killing an animal for sport makes me sick. Hunters speak of the 'hunt' as if it were a real challenge. If a challenge is what they want, let them hunt other hunters, also equipped with guns and binoculars, but please stop pretending that tracking and killing a dumb beast is in any way a manly act. It is not. To anyone who knows the wild, it is little more than shooting fish in a barrel. Maybe if we lived in a time and place where Shop-Rite and Stop N Shop and Acme and A&P didn't offer specials on meat and foul and fish just about every week, hunting might reclaim some relevance.
The people change one kinda freaked me out, I guess I can't relate. I don't know anyone struggling with hate and the Klan. Not to minimize it though.
