This is my first vanity, so bear with me...
Like many of you here, I wasn't too excited with the results of the election. It is not a time to be self-denying, there were plenty of good reasons for voters to be unhappy with the GOP and there are plenty of things that need to be worked on and corrected.
As opposed to dwelling on it for too long, I figured I'd put my efforts to something helpful and useful, so I made a donation to FR!
FreeRepublic.com is an amazing tool, that has a hugh effect on the media and US policy. The media did a pretty good job of keeping Nancy Pelosi in the background during the campaign, now she is up front and center.
Why not chip in a few bucks to FR, expose her for what she is, and drive her into the ground before 2008?!?
Heck, it sure made me feel better! Seriesly!!

I was upset for a while, but I always try to look on the brighter side of things!
Often times Dems will try to campain as conservatives, and there was a lot on the shoulders of the GOP during this election.
Honestly, I think having Pelosi as Speaker of the House will GREATLY help us in 2008. I also think that President Bush will find his veto pen too.

I woke up this morning thinking the same thing: The democrats now have the stage, and they'll show their true colors.
All of this "We support our troops" talk: We'll see won't we?
The GOP needed a wake up call and got it. Hopefully it'll unite us for the next fight.

Same here. I am hoping for deadlock and that conservative Democrats will vote more along conservative lines. Also, this may cause Republican Party leaders to remember the Contract with America and generate a similar set of goals and focus on meeting them. Also, victory in 2008 will depend on us. I for one, shall gripe less on FR and take my gripes more to the folks for whom I voted and the Party leadership. Hearing from constituents is better than any damned poll. Who knows, some FReepers may find their ideas on policy actually offered for legislation. I am choosing not to be like a DUer and whine in the face of defeat. I am choosing not to be a pessimist. I am choosing to fight to win.

That cartoon is the most accurate thing I've seen this morning.People here can complain about conservatives who stayed home and didn't vote but ALL elections are decided by the swingers, tweeners, political crossdressers who don't have a political philosophy and can flip one way or the other by a single issue.Ahhhhhh this year that issue was IRAQ !!!
