Keith Richards' appearance in the second Pirates of the Caribbean sequel descended into chaos after he apparently got so drunk on the movie set, the film's director had to prop him up, IMDB.com reports.
The hell-raising Rolling Stones guitarist finally shot his long-awaited cameo as Johnny Depp's father in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End earlier this summer, but he is perhaps unlikely to remember the occasion.
Bill Nighy, who plays Davy Jones in the film, told Empire Online that Richards was inebriated by the time the production team retrieved him from his trailer to shoot his scene, and he required a little support from director Gore Verbinski.
The 62-year-old rocker is reported to have remarked, ``If you wanted straight, then you got the wrong man.''
In other news....The Sun will rise in the east tomorrow, the Pope is Catholic and a Brown Bear makes number two in the woods...
I hated the first movie and refused to see the second. How hard is it to play a effeminate drunk and call it a pirate?
A really cool scene would be that Keith Richards falls overboard and is never seen again. Except it's not part of the script, it's real.
That would be so cool.
It's a wonder he's still alive. He must have one of the best livers God has given to a person.
Richards' insides probably has the consistency of cooked oatmeal, with all the drugs and God-knows-what-else he's injested or snorted.
Good to see Keith's recovered from the fall from the coconut tree.
I was thinking Oliver or Sharon, not Rolling Stone.
I just find that very hard to believe.
Another graduate of the Keith Richards School of Charm.
I always think of the scene in Wayne's World 2 where legendary roadie Dale Preston says Keith can't be killed by conventional weapons.
I think that Keith Richards is not really human. At least his liver isn't.
I was only aware of one sequel. When did they make a third 'Pirates' movie, as I was only aware of one sequel.
They filmed the second and third installments of the Pirates trilogy concurrently.
No wonder I did not see him.
