Durham slaying witness missing
Mug-shot ID called pressured



DURHAM - The key witness in a double homicide last year now says he was pressured by police to make an identification. Authorities say the man, whom they cannot find, is afraid of a defendant who has escaped charges before when witnesses recanted.

Okay long time Durhamites(?) Now is the time to put your brains to work.

I have long heard the story about a now deceased man who served as Sheriff and County Commissioner who employeed the head of the local Hell's Angels (who happened to be busted for owning massage parlors).

Of course all the pols denied involvement in protstitution.
BTW present mayor was a political ally of this now deceased man. (This was in the 80's)

Does anyone have any memories of this and perhaps could confirm or deny? God knows local media will not touch it.
