I had just finished posting the following on old thread:

There is a differene between "getting inolved in the media" and taking a leadership role.
Had he taken a leadership role, perhaps Nifong would have had a harder time grabbing the spotlight.
It was not just the rape investigation he was absent from.
His city was on the brink of a racial event. The NBP came to town. "Dead man walking" was heard when Seligman went to court.
Who is entrusted to keep the public safe during these times? Not the DA. Not the city manager. Rather the Police Department and Chalmers is the head of the DPD.
I truly do not know enough to make an honest opinion as to whether or not he is getting ready for the fallout or if he washed his hands of the sordid affair.
But it looks as if he is running scared.
More baseball games this weekend. As if my plate is not full, Duke, Israel and watching baseball in the heat.
I'll be in & out checking on both threads.
