OK, then maybe I can help in other ways... [heh, doubtful!]

I can’t risk inviting people over for a traditional holiday weekend party because LEO may visit due to excessive smoke, noise, parking violations, dust, or watering the lawn at the wrong time of day, etc, etc.

Excessive smoke: Do you need help in how to start a proper campfire that doesn't smoke out the whole neighborhood?

Noise: Must you have the music so loud that the neighbors have to hear it on ~their~ holiday?

Parking violations: The lawn watering and parking violations indicate to me that you live in some kind of suburban neighborhood, and had a party involving a lot of cars that proved to be a hassle for the neighbors also. Lawn watering restrictions are usually only involved with public or communal wells at times when there just isn't enough water for everyone without restrictions.

Blame it on too many people. You live in close proximity to other people and are not acting like it. Shooting at squirrels with a .45 in such a neighborhood is poor manners at the very least.

It should go without saying that I'm not all that sympathetic to your woe that your guests can no longer safely leave drunk from your parties.

Sorry :~D I respond viscerally to crabby people who complain that the country has gone to hell just because they can no longer act like teenagers or backwoods hicks.

I'm sympathetic on the smoking bans, if that helps.

Now go forth and be a good neighbor.... Or move out somewhere where you have enough land to not bother anyone else and you'll be fine to have such a party.

Already done that.

No place is too far away.

And if I had not already done so, I would if you would.

I remember as in my English class in middle school, demonstrating how to use a Swiss army knife as part of a speech, and having the same Swiss army knife on my keychain in high school.

God forbid anyone go near a school with anything as sharp as a toothpick these days.

Already done that.

I don't think so! Not if you're on water restrictions, have no place to park vehicles, and have neighbors who are even aware of your smoke, noise, and penchant for shooting cute little squirrels.

Thar's always Wyoming or Alaska

Or Idaho. :)

Maybe you could describe this whole party bust of yours in a way that actually describes the scene. If you have 80 acres, why are people parking on the street? How close is the nearest neighbor? And why are you on some kind of municiple water? And what caused all the smoke?

The situation exists. I shouldn't have to explain it, because I can't, other than to say it is a symptom of runaway government.

Do your own research.

These are good places to start.

New Mexico Fire Information

Party Patrol

Police to breath test pedestrians

What does that mean? You made it up? It's 'fake but accurate?'

What ~are~ you talking about?

Nevermind... Have a good night :~D

You also.

I'm a little testy this evening and am going to call it a day.
