MINNEAPOLIS - A man convicted of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman he met in a Minneapolis nightclub has been deported to Mexico.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Bloomington says 36-year-old Domingo Penaloza-Cabrera was turned over to Mexican authorities on Wednesday.
Penaloza-Cabrera was convicted in a Hennepin County District Court in 2001 of kidnapping and attempted first-degree sexual conduct. Authorities say instead of taking her home, he drove her to the Mississippi River, sexually assaulted her and then beat her with a metal pipe and tried to drown her.
He served sentences of 48 months for the kidnapping and 43 months for the sex crime before being deported.

Do the math. It does not add up. These were obviously consecutive terms. And the article is misleading.
Let me put it in real words. For the crime of Kidknaping, Rape and attempted murder this man recieved a sentence of about 5 years. He has been released to Mexico where he will catch the next border crossing group back to the US of A.
If you were an Amercian then you would have served a life sentance.

Glad to see I'm not the only one outraged by his minimal sentence.
At least he wasn't 5'1". Then he'd be on four month anklet patrol and 10 years probation in Nebraska or wherever that case was recently.
"shipped to Mexico"....where they promptly gave him HIGH FIVES and prepared him for his return journey.
