(Hearld Sun)Did we miss this? Or was it just me?.......
Meanwhile, several defense lawyers had a telephone conference Saturday to further discuss the new DNA results.
Afterward, attorney Bill Thomas of Durham -- who represents an un-indicted lacrosse player -- said semen found in the dancer's body was "of recent origin" and had been deposited there "immediately prior to her being examined" in connection with the alleged rape.

From the article:
Attempts to reach Nifong on Friday evening and Saturday were unsuccessful.
The woman's father declined to comment Friday evening after the latest DNA results were made public.

Back to your point. That's the first I've heard that time frame mentioned. He has to mean after the AV left the Duke party, right?
If so, that is startling news.

You can read into that and see that the defense has its own theory of what Crystal Magnum and her "boyfriend" cooked up, and they are going to launch both barrels at the DA and the prosecution.

I would think if a woman had truly been raped and beaten by three men, the last thing she would want is to have consentual sex with someone else. The suspicion of the injuries and bruising must now be focused on the person she had sex with "immdeiately prior to her being examined", regardless of whether he is a boyfriend, pimp, cop, john, politician or judge.

Does this mean within a few hours, as in "before the party"--or within the hour of her being taken to the hospital--which would make it AFTER she left? How can they know for certain? Don't sperm live for up to 48 hours in a "hospitable environment"?
I am usually very skeptical of any defense "spin", but this whole case has me--at least temporarily--more receptive to their statements.
