Duke Lacrosse DNA: Mystery Man Revealed (Accuser's Boyfriend!!!)
ABC News ^ | 13 May 06 | CHRIS CUOMO, GERRY WAGSCHAL, CHRIS FRANCESCANI and LARA SETRAKIAN

May 13, 2006 — The second round of DNA test results in the Duke University rape investigation show "no conclusive match'' to any lacrosse players, defense attorneys said, but a vaginal swab of the alleged rape victim produced DNA from a "single male source'' — a man not on the lacrosse team who did not attend a March 13 party that was the site of the alleged rape.

Joe Cheshire, a defense attorney for Duke University lacrosse players at the center of a rape investigation, said the latest tests show no conclusive match to any of the lacrosse players' DNA. (ABC News

Defense attorney Joe Chesire declined to identify the mystery man or his connection to the alleged victim, but ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned that the unnamed source of the DNA is the alleged victim's "boyfriend," according to her mother.

ABC News is withholding the name of the man because he is apparently not a target of the investigation. Records indicate that Durham, N.C., police gave the "boyfriend'' a cheek swab to collect DNA on May 3, ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned exclusively.

It is unclear if or how the first DNA tests missed what appears to be the only foreign genetic material found on the alleged victim's body, defense attorneys said. Two Duke lacrosse players were indicted more than two weeks before the cheek swab was taken from the "boyfriend."

It is also unclear whether the alleged victim had sex with the "boyfriend" the night she claims to have been raped by three Duke lacrosse players. DNA experts tell ABC News that genetic traces of semen can remain in the body up to six days after intercouse.

Took me a year after moving here to not startle and look for my "safe" spot whenever there was "movement".

No one ever counters that in those cases without incriminating DNA that the perp is known to the victim, there is physical evidence, someone has a record, etc.

Certainly a possibility. If that is true though, I would think it casts doubt on the idea that the FA (False Accuser) made up the rape story to avoid going to jail (which has been my take).

No, it doesn't change that at all. I'm getting the strong impression, if you will, it is possible the FA "had" to do this thing in order to avoid "something else". That impression is now stronger than ever.

"Bastards" (in the colloquial sense of the word, not the literal) always consider themselves better than the other guy. Doesn't make it so. I have a rule with "bastards": walk away. It really pisses them off. (Can I say that here? Please change to "PO's" them, if necessary, mods.)

Duke "threw" money to the squawking PD. They wanted more. Duke is a business, among other things. There is just so much cash to go around. There is just so much money a business can earmark for non-operating expenses before it jeopardizes itself. Yes, there is a ton of cash in the endowment fund. However, money from the endowment fund can only be distributed per the terms set up when the fund was created. (BTW, not all of the money in the endowment fund goes to Duke or Duke students in the form of financial aid; there are many other organizations and schools that benefit.)

Sounds to me like you're in politics.

NORML.

Sitting and looking at the ceiling.

Now this makes other "seemingly" past unrelated data about "goings on" in NC make sense. Durham would be a perfect nexus for that type of operation. I'll go digging. Thank you.

At least his "sentences" were short. Left coast NORML members tend to the Noam Chomsky thingee.. of talking so long and in these maladorous voicings, that you sleep with your eyes open.. as if in hypnotic state, you are beyond hope of ever escaping....

Used to be called being on the receiving end of the evil eye.

Now they just call it a.. lol.. CONTACT stun. ;>

You're suggesting appeasement of extortion which we all know only produces demands for more.

Kim claims she had a 4.0 in H.S. and went to UNC where she dropped out. She had every chance in the world to NOT end up like she is. A shakedown of the lacrosse team by Kim and her partner in crime Crystal is unjust, and a shakedown of Duke by Durham is unjust. Are you saying that Duke should pay a bribe to Durham to keep the lax team out of jail? Sure sounds like it.

Plenty of kids will still apply to Duke but they will have learned the lesson that it's better to keep their discretionary spending on campus. The bigger decline will be Durham's.

This is wishful thinking on your part. By way of comparison Yale has had terrible town-gown problems for decades. I've been there. The neighborhoods next to Yale look like a war zone. Let me know when their applications for admissions start to decline. Columbia also comes to mind as a school at odds with its surrounding neighbors. There they have to give the incoming frosh strict boundaries so they can stay out of no man's land and live to see the morning. Compared to them, Duke has not problem at all.

Women like this are probably raising sons. Absolutely sickening.

Well, I got an interesting study to tell you about... In the 90s, I and some pals did some interviewing of a TON of males from all walks of the various "perspectives". The one thing which was absolutely made clear? Women like these feminists who have sons, raise angry and often violent males. Mama is abusive. Ergo, their sons grow up being angry and... fill in the rest.

We did prison interviews too. Those who were assaultive of females were neatly, consistently raised by anti-male, ball breakers.

There, McKinnon/Dworkin/Bill/Hill Clinton -- there's the result of your feminism -- increasing violence, while platforming on stopping the violence, and encouraging more women to be viscious, so their children could learn from mommy's instructions...

"I was on the upper deck of Candlestick Park for the World Series game."

WOW! I remember seeing that on TV, but never talked to or knew anyone who was there at that moment.

Wow. You brought back memories of California and the confession of Dan White, which was broadcast on radio for all to hear. I actually felt sorry for the guy.

You know it was just a mistake all along. Dan White's wife sent him out "to get Boloney and Milk, and he thought she said "to get Moscone and Milk".
