Duke Lacrosse DNA: Mystery Man Revealed (Accuser's Boyfriend!!!)
ABC News ^ | 13 May 06 | CHRIS CUOMO, GERRY WAGSCHAL, CHRIS FRANCESCANI and LARA SETRAKIAN

May 13, 2006 — The second round of DNA test results in the Duke University rape investigation show "no conclusive match'' to any lacrosse players, defense attorneys said, but a vaginal swab of the alleged rape victim produced DNA from a "single male source'' — a man not on the lacrosse team who did not attend a March 13 party that was the site of the alleged rape.

Joe Cheshire, a defense attorney for Duke University lacrosse players at the center of a rape investigation, said the latest tests show no conclusive match to any of the lacrosse players' DNA. (ABC News

Defense attorney Joe Chesire declined to identify the mystery man or his connection to the alleged victim, but ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned that the unnamed source of the DNA is the alleged victim's "boyfriend," according to her mother.

ABC News is withholding the name of the man because he is apparently not a target of the investigation. Records indicate that Durham, N.C., police gave the "boyfriend'' a cheek swab to collect DNA on May 3, ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned exclusively.

It is unclear if or how the first DNA tests missed what appears to be the only foreign genetic material found on the alleged victim's body, defense attorneys said. Two Duke lacrosse players were indicted more than two weeks before the cheek swab was taken from the "boyfriend."

It is also unclear whether the alleged victim had sex with the "boyfriend" the night she claims to have been raped by three Duke lacrosse players. DNA experts tell ABC News that genetic traces of semen can remain in the body up to six days after intercouse.

Your opinion on that post (backed up by an URL) is not shared by anyone else.

For a variety of incomprehensible reasons few wish to imagine that women who hang around with street hustlers, slumlords (see posts above by others), strippers and prostitutes could possibly be associated with gambling interests in North Carolina.

Anyone know if any of these "cousins" are Hairston family members? That can explain a "lot" when it comes to Democratic party politics at the top throughout the Southeastern states.

>>>>It begs the question...What the hell is driving Nifong?<<

>>You beat me to it. The election's over. I cannot figure out why he is pursuing a non-case like this.

Now there's a question I've been wondering about.

Does he have to keep the case alive, or risk a viable write-in candidate campaign in the general election in the Fall, if the truth of this case finally really gets out to / dawns on the locals?

Might wait a while on that conclusion ~ it's a statement from one of the defense attorneys.

Still, a tremendous turn of phrase ~ which is why we all pay the good ones the big bucks.

(There are folks here are going to think I'm defending the AV for advising anyone to wait a while. Ignore them. This woman hangs around with slumlords, street hustlers, has her own criminal record, does strips at smokers on an "on call" basis late at night, and no one should expect her and her friends to be beyond a DisneyWorld Scam. The partyline is that "broomstick" wasn't even spoken aloud. Frankly, a "broomstick" and a "lacrosse stick" don't look all that different to the uninitiated civilians who might see one waved in the air.

What do you think the odds are of a bunch of lacrosse players having one of those sticks around the house? Is it 0%? Maybe 50%? More?

You decide!

ABC, Christopher Cuomo - "We were trying to find out where accused was that night before the party. On 5/3, man id'd as her boyfriend, he was identified by multiple choices, had his cheek swabbed for a DNA sample.

She had a multiple choice to ID her boyfriend???

Hmmm ~ nothing was "brandished". How about "seen lieing about the place". Or is that too much too?

Here's the one ~ "no lacrosse player present at the party in the home of several lacrosse players had ever even seen, nor touched, a lacrosse stick in his life".

Ah, yes, that's the one ~ no lacrosse sticks ~ gotcha'!

Why is it you don't think the AV could possibly have been doing the bidding of gambling interests (local or otherwise). She hangs around with street hustlers, hookers, strippers, slumlords and other criminally minded folks ~ why should gamblers have escaped her path?

Or did you forget to put /sarcasm in your Post?

If the rape exam began at 3:00 a.m. and vaginal swabs gathered "live" sperm, wouldn't that pinpoint when they could have been deposited? And wouldn't spermicide on condoms have "killed" the sperm?

You think she went three hours with the semen all over her? I doubt that, even animals clean up once in a while.

I am just trying to throw out possible scenarios.

On Pelvic examiniation the notes would say something like:

1.Blah ,blah, blah with a moderate amount of seminal fluid suggestive of recent sexual activity
2. Tears & laverations noted and description of those to indicate age
3.Anything else determined by protocol

At the end of the physical exam it would say :

Impression: (Whatever physical observations) consistent with sexual assault

It will not say a rape definitiely occured.

That is why it is so important for the defense to get the actual hospital record. It is the only way they will get the complete picture.

In a nutshell, if we were to only see the report we see that she had injuries consistent with a sexual assualt. Reading the entire report the lawyers will see things Nifong did not want them to see.

Afterward, attorney Bill Thomas of Durham -- who represents an un-indicted lacrosse player -- said semen found in the dancer's body was "of recent origin" and had been deposited there "immediately prior to her being examined" in connection with the alleged rape.

BUMP!

Maybe, I can see the clean up thing, but even if she cleaned up, the amount of ejaculate coating the vaginia and cervix could suggest when it happened (assuming it was an "inside job")

Keep in mind, I am not saying that is what happened...only speculating. If (and I say IF) "immediately" is an accurate assessment, what it would be based on.

"I had thought PD took Crystal to ER. But something came up at this point, and we were all looking into why the police would release Crystal to her BF. 'member this?"

Yes, early on we discussed this, and "reports" said that she was taken to the PD by her boyfriend, then it was changed to say the police. Could it be that "police," and "boyfriend," are one of the same? I always suspected they were, and I always thought that's when they had sex...after the LAX party. That's when he planted the story about "cry rape," in her head. IMO

Several of us have been asking that very question from the beginning.

Also, there was a phone call, a member of the police force made at that time, apparently while with her, that someone should check on the young ones. Sounds like he was familiar with her kids.
