Duke Lacrosse DNA: Mystery Man Revealed (Accuser's Boyfriend!!!)
ABC News ^ | 13 May 06 | CHRIS CUOMO, GERRY WAGSCHAL, CHRIS FRANCESCANI and LARA SETRAKIAN

May 13, 2006 — The second round of DNA test results in the Duke University rape investigation show "no conclusive match'' to any lacrosse players, defense attorneys said, but a vaginal swab of the alleged rape victim produced DNA from a "single male source'' — a man not on the lacrosse team who did not attend a March 13 party that was the site of the alleged rape.

Joe Cheshire, a defense attorney for Duke University lacrosse players at the center of a rape investigation, said the latest tests show no conclusive match to any of the lacrosse players' DNA. (ABC News

Defense attorney Joe Chesire declined to identify the mystery man or his connection to the alleged victim, but ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned that the unnamed source of the DNA is the alleged victim's "boyfriend," according to her mother.

ABC News is withholding the name of the man because he is apparently not a target of the investigation. Records indicate that Durham, N.C., police gave the "boyfriend'' a cheek swab to collect DNA on May 3, ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned exclusively.

It is unclear if or how the first DNA tests missed what appears to be the only foreign genetic material found on the alleged victim's body, defense attorneys said. Two Duke lacrosse players were indicted more than two weeks before the cheek swab was taken from the "boyfriend."

It is also unclear whether the alleged victim had sex with the "boyfriend" the night she claims to have been raped by three Duke lacrosse players. DNA experts tell ABC News that genetic traces of semen can remain in the body up to six days after intercouse.

So as long as "one of three" is not arrested, the entire indictment is sealed?? Was that the "trick" that NiFong pulled to keep the jurors silent??

The DA has made clear his intent to proceed despite knowing that these young men are innocent of these false charges

He'll just come out and say "They just don't want to go up against me."

I am such a mean and petty b*t*h, I now demand complete and utter HUMILIATION for that fool.

Once again, it could be any of our sons. It terrifies me to think Nifong could win this case. A son will be taken out of the courtroom, in handcuffs to state prison. And my God, how slow is the appeals process.

I can't begin to imagine what those parents are feeling right now.

I am sorry, I cannot remember who put up that fish picture to represent Kimberly, but I just cannot get it out of my mind when I watch her.

What can that Grand Jury be thinking? Do they not watch TV?

Is there not one of them that will stand up for what is right?

How can Nifong be so positive that they will indict that the boy is getting his bond check ready tonight?

Remember the old Don Knotts' movie Mr. Limpett? He turned into a fish.
She looks like Ms. Limpett

Well I am back from a night at the beach and boy have things been hot and heavy. I am barely keeping up.

I finally watched a couple of tv shows on this case. I just watched The Lineup. Boy are the panelist uninformed about this case.

The facts as I know them:

1. The woman ID two 100% and two 90% in her rigged photo array including one person who was not in Durham at the time.

2. There is a SANE report. And she may or may not have lied to the SANE.

3. There is a toxicology report.

4. Among 40+ people at the party no one other than her will be able to testify she was raped.

5. None of the DNA on her is a match to any Duke Lacrosse player nor was any DNA on the nails found in the bathroom a match for any Duke lacrosse player.

6. Nifong is about to bite off far more than he can chew if he indicts the son of two powerful people tommorrow.

Is that about right?

If it was me, it would be pure unadulterated fury.

Fine, let him say that. The point is to let the public know that you are so certain in your own innocence you will bring libel, deprivation of civil rights charges, etc. against everyone involved until the truth emerges in a public forum. Keep pressuring them with the message that any official willing to blow the whistle now can avoid a whole lot of legal pain in the future.

I laughed when I heard Nifong say that. Hadn't heard those taunts since grade school, and usually from some guy who, shall we say, was making up for other "short"comings . . .

Howlin...I don't think that there is any way for NiFong to back out now. There's no guarantee to NiFong that this boy will be indicted. BUT, he has to continue because there is no way that he can say...Well, I'm not going to do this.

The third boy must be mentioned somewhere in the materials in the manila envelope. It HAS to go to the judge with whatever evidence he has.
