Just a hypothetical

If I were to compose a work of fiction with conservative themes, are there conservative publishers that would give my book consideration, as opposed to mainstream publishers who would discard it because it wasn't written by a liberal?

Thanks.

I think Regnery might. Of course, even if the work is good, there's no guarantee a "Conservative" publisher will be interested.

Consider self-publishing, if your goal is to profit.

Thanks. I privately responded. BTW, just finished my first (practice) screenplay. We'll see what my ultra-left-wing instructor thinks about it. (Actually, he has been pretty fair with me and has given me everything I need to write a screenplay).

Rush, Hannity, Savage, Levin etc etc etc etc were published, not on the basis of being Conservative, most likely, but because their words are marketable, and thus, profitable.

I'll buy your book, if you autograph it for me... deal?

Start with an agent. Submit your proposal to known literary agents who represent authors of similar books. If ligthening strikes and an agent does want to represent ou they will know exactly where to take your book and all the terms and details of negotiation.

Trust me. My wife is a three-time New York Times bestselling author.

Talk with Jeff about it. He has published a couple of books.

If you are careful, it is possible to write a book with superficially liberal statements, though any true intellect will see through this and discover your conservative intentions.

Publishers haven't the skill to read books, nor do most critics.

OF course there are... remember this one thing: if a publisher thinks a book will sell (hence, bring in money) they'll likely publish it.

No, I haven't read it. Tell me about it..

It's a bestselling fictional novel with a conservative look at whacko environmentalism by Michael Crichton.

My reason in pointing it out was to demonstrate that such books do get signed in the publishing world. Publishers are businesses and they know darn well that conservative-themed literature sells

Thank you all very much. Great advice already pouring in!

Question: are book agents pricey?

Thanks again
