He would be less of a threat over the long term if he were executed.

If he finds a way to threaten us with 23 hours of solitary confinement, well, execution wouldn't stop him either LOL...

If Osama bin Laden is captured alive will you be pleading for life sentences for him for fear of making him a martyr?

It figures that you'd try to compare UBL with ZM. I don't know if I should answer it, or just keep laughing. Ok I'll answer. ZM is a SMALL FRY. UBL is the kingpin. The penalties can and SHOULD be different because no matter what, UBL WILL be a martyr to SOMEONE. ZM isn't and won't be anytime soon, since he will be in solitary.

Your post made my illogic and inanity meter peg out way past the redline.

If he's "small fry", Dr. Einstein, he's not likely to make much of a martyr, is he?

So tell me again, if it is stupid to execute the dullard "small fry" Moussoui because it would make him a martry, why would it not be 1000 times more stupid to execute the charismatic and highly influential (among the Islamofascists) Osama bin Laden?

Now, if you want to argue that he shouldn't be executed because you belive his offenses were minor then just say so. Trying to frighten FReepers by playing the "martyr" card is beyond ridiculous.
