Both of my grandmothers came to this country from Eastern Europe LEGALLY and cleaned houses for a living, and each generation has been better educated and better off since. i am all for bettering yourself LEGALLY. and oh, by the way. NEITHER Of my parents grew up speaking either Ukrainian or Lithuanian in their homes. my parents did not speak their parents language EVER. they assimilated.
Same here Mikrofon. My family lost everything they had when they immigrated here, even knowing they might be turned away. It took years to be granted citizenship!
