OK, I'm thinking about a scooter. Any suggestions? (Vanity)

I'm looking at the dealer sites and was wondering if there's any FReepers who have any experiences with them.

I'll probably only be using it for the 15 mile trip to and from work during the summer. Preferably, something I can take on the highways above 50MPH.

Thanks.

After I just but under 7 gallons of gas in the truck for $20, a scooter isn't looking half bad for those short limited cargo runs to town.

Get a Libby .

Just kidding go 400CC or better so you have enough power to be safe in traffic. Smaller is better on mileage and fun, but you need 600cc if you want to go more than an hour at interstate speeds. Also parts are easier to get for the japanese brands. I've been starting to look myself (I road a little Vespa P200E in high school).

Sorry but my experience with scooters goes back to the days when Allstate and Cushman were building the old "step-through" models. Lot's of fun but still have scars.

Oh boy! This is gonna be a fun thread. I wonder if the Admins would put it in the, "General," part of FR for more folks to see it pick on me.

I had to make a grocery store run for lightbulbs. I never expected it to cost me $22.

Low humor aside, Honda makes a 600cc scooter that is very highway worthy. I've seen them and they look good and fun. One of those would probably get >50 mph ( I have a ducati 620 that gets around 60 mph)
