researching wasps... My father-in-law does that very same thing at UC Riverside. Right now he is working on teeny tiny wingless wasps (they all look like ants to me).
In other news, we have a new homeschool group set up to officially be running July 1st. It is called, I think, Collin County Homeschoolers SAIL. SAIL stands for Sharing Adventures in Learning. We are currently working on a webpage.
There is more to the dissolution story than I knew originally, and more developed as we regrouped into SAIL. It is proving to be a bit nasty on one side. Some members are trying to be in both groups, but the "leader" of the member led group doesn't want to two groups to mingle - at all.
It's really wierd. The other group is supposed to be a member led group and no membership fees. However, there is one person in charge of decisions and there are levels of membership. There are some hard feelings, though I don't really understand why. The new group is friendly/inviting about everything (especially concerning the old leadership). The old leadership is really adamant about not letting the two groups have any activity together.
Really.... :~)
It's an ugly nightmare, isn't it. I came out of the situation really really burned.
Present company excepted of course, and with some exceptions in my own support group (no exceptions in the other group), I find most women annoying and silly at best and downright nasty and conniving at worst.
But I need the support group because we can do more things (field trips, activities) as a group.
