Is your house near an old Civil War battlefield? It'd be interesting to research what was there before the housing development.
All I know is that during the filming of "Gettysburg", the reinactors camp out on Pump House Road, had several interesting "occurrences". Apparently, they were camped on a field that was used by Longstreet's Corp. as a hospital area and camp. I personally know one of the guys who saw one of the "lights" that would appear, then diminish upon closer investigation - he's a fire dept. captain. Those lights were small potatoes compared to some of the stories.

I don't believe in ghosts, but I've had my own "strange" experiences at Gettysburg. During two previous visits, I'd sometimes hear the distant sounds of cheering by a large crowd (even though there was nobody around) at the rail cut and up on Little Round Top.

I took my wife and kids a couple of years ago and heard (or saw) nothing unusual, however. In a way, I was relieved. I'd hate to explain why I heard a group of men cheering nobody else could hear.

Totally off topic but has anyone been to the Appomattox Courthouse state park? We went this last summer and even the teens (you know teens and history just don't mix) were impressed. They had a reinactor there who played a Confederate soldier. He told the story of preceding battles and how his buddies died and how the war changed their families. He had the whole audience in tears at the end.

Nope, didn't feel any presences or see any ectoplasm.
