Good morning, Everyone. Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families.

Thank you, Mojo and Gummy, for preparing the Canteen for today’s activities. I'm with the rest of you. HECK NO!

We're in for another fairly nice day here in DC Metroland. Yesterday, was overcast and chilly. But, starting today the sun will come back out and the days will become warmer, when by the weekend we could be near 70! KEWL!

I must tell you that I will be working from home again today. So, my time at the Canteen will be brief. Here's a little update on the Bath Fitters situation. They came yesterday. They did not finish the job in one day.

We had problems from the start. I won't go into all of them. Just say that Beachy was not a happy camper at day's end. The only problem that was not BF's fault was the fact that the old house did not have the waterproof sheetrock behind the paneling (or whatever you call that plastic like wallboard). The installer will put that up before he does my wall surround. The icing was when the installer compared my tub with the new molded tub liner he was to install. He was very hesitant to come tell me that it was the wrong liner. Sure enough, it was a different design than my tub. They must match to ensure that there is a tight fit and no shifting of the liner. So, here we are on day two. The installer will get my bath tub in working order however, it will take another two weeks to get the new tub liner to finish the job. The only good news is the installer said he would come back to finish the job on a Saturday so that I did not have to take another day to stay home.

Ok, that's enough of that drama. How about another piece of Fun and Useless Facts?

Wackiest Street Names

Tater Peeler Road in Lebanon, Texas

The intersection of Count and Basie in Richmond, Va.

Shades of Death Road in Warren County, N.J.

Unexpected Road in Buena, N.J.

Bucket of Blood Street in Holbrook, Ariz.

The intersection of Clinton and Fidelity in Houston (yeah, right!)

The intersection of Lonesome and Hardup in Albany, Ga.

Farfrompoopen Road in Tennessee (the only road up to Constipation Ridge)

Divorce Court in Heather Highlands, Pa.

Psycho Path in Traverse City, Mich. (This is most likely a real warning! Beachy can say this cause Mr. Beachy is from Michigan! he...he....)

Here's another warning

Don't be coming to the Canteen unless you support and honor our military

To all newbies and lurkers

Now, I've got to get out of the PJ's before the installer shows up. It's been fun. But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!

Now remember, the Canteen is

So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM

DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and

our allies military and the family members of the above.

Honoring those who have served before.

Today's FEEBLE

YOKE :

Blackie prided himself on being patient when teaching driver education, something he has done for 30 years. He had encountered many, many students, who didn't seem to be able to hit the floor with their hat. But one incident was just too much.

Blackie had a sweet young thing behind the wheel for the first lesson of the semester. MoJo had volunteered to go first and seemed ready to show the other two kids how well she could drive. They left the rural school and started toward town.

As they approached the first stop sign, MoJo gave no sign that she saw it. They got closer, but MoJo still did not slow down. Finally, Blackie used the "teacher's brake" pedal, on his side of the car, to get them stopped.

When Blackie asked Mojo why she didn't slow down to stop for the stop sign, she replied, "but, Mr. Blackie, the speed limit is 35 ALL the way to the stop sign!"

A little something from My "Voices"....

Can you read these (correctly) right the first time?

1) The bandage was wound around the wound.

2) The farm was used to produce produce.

3) The dump was so full that it had to refuse more refuse.

4) We must polish the Polish furniture.

5) He could lead if he would get the lead out.

6) The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.

7) Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present.

8) A bass was painted on the head of the bass drum.

9) When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.
- and here I have been thinking all these years the word was dived i.e. " The dove dived into the bushes"...silly me.

10) I did not object to the object.

11) The insurance was invalid for the invalid.

12) There was a row among the oarsmen about how to row.

13) They were too close to the door to close it.

14) The buck does funny things when the does are present.

15) A seamstress and a sewer fell down into a sewer line.

16) To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow.

17) The wind was too strong to wind the sail.

18) Upon seeing the tear in the painting I shed a tear.

19) I had to subject the subject to a series of tests.

20) How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend?
