The five films nominated for Best Picture together grossed less than Narnia. No one was watching the movies, why should we watch the Oscars?

Same here.
Even when movies I've liked have been nominated, I still don't watch.
No patience to sit thru the speeches and miscellaneous awards like Best Costume, etc. etc.

Tradesports.com futures the other day tells us that "Brokeback mountain" wins Best Picture easily, Dustin Hoffman wins Best Actor and Reese Witherspoon easily takes Best Actress.
But no, I ain't gonna watch because that much self-indulgence makes me woozy. And, of course, there's the fact that I cannot stomach multi-zillionaire, socialists who think they are smart 'cause they're famous.

Dustin Hoffman wins Best Actor He's not even nominated!
Brokeback Mountin' (or Oklahomo) wins Best Picture, Philip Seymour Hoffman wins Best Actor for playing the author and flaming homo Truman Capote, and Felicity Huffman wins Best Actress for playing a man undergoing a sex change, completing the gay-lesbian-transgendered trifecta! No I will not be watching.

I plan to peek at the winners.
Leah Rozen at People Magazine deemed Crash the film that should win Best Picture. That's the film I am pulling for.

I'm not gay so why would I want to watch the Oscars this year??
I wonder if Buttcrack Mountin will win best pic?? lol
To: dynachrome
If the poll is accurate (of course it's not), then the ratings won't be very bad. It would be right in line with Oscar telecasts of recent years.
