Just damn! I was having rolicking late-night tv affair with Craig Ferguson whose Late Late Show comes on after that unwatchable liberal schmuck Letterman.
But Craig was different. Talked about personal responsibility, admited to years of "blackout" drinking, which he quit years ago. Admirable. One night he did his monologue on Courtney Love who was just headed into "treatment" for the umpteenth time, but after the obligatory jokes about her, ended by wishing her the very best for making a true recovery this time. Gallant. Devoted one show to holding a wake for his father, who'd died a few days earlier, which was so honest and touching it was one of the best hours I've ever seen on tv. What's not to love?
Sure, Craig added to the Cheney jokes last week, but nothing really vicious. Sure, he made nightly swipes at Fox News. Nothing truly alarming. I even forgave him for the occasional "Is Bush Drinking" moment showing a clip of the prez in carefully crafted slow motion. Too funny to be taken seriously.
I rolled with the punches because, after all, Craig made me laugh every night -- and that felt great.
Then came President's Day and along with it a guest appearance by that jackal who plays Denny Crane on "Boston Legal." They ripped Bush up one side and down the other in a horrendously mean-spirited fashion, exposing themselves for the flaming liberal idiots they really are at heart.
So today, I'm celebrating reclamation of six hours a week. Never again will I even glance Ferguson's way (that's five hours) nor flip the switch to Boston Legal, which has gone downhill fast anyway since Candace Bergen joined the cast.
Sayonara and good riddance to the lot of them!
Ms. Veto!
Neeeeever heard of him.
Come to think of it, I can quit President Bush too if he doesn't VETO! the Arab port deal.
Wasn't a line in the movie Brokedog Mountain..
One Fruit to another I can't or can quit you?
Nope, me neither.... must be one of the alphabet stations.
Didn't see Brokeback, but one well-known line shown in every media piece on the move is "I can't quit you."
So you are ready to buy the Treason Media and Party of Treason's descriptions of reality rather than the President? Not smart.
I ADORE Craig and won't give him up. His is the only show that I watch on CBS.
Ah yes!!! Makes you never want to say it when it is the Claim to Fame in Brokeback!
Why do you think Letterman hired him?
I adored Craig until last night. But I don't love anyone enough to stay around and listen to nasty -- really very nasty-- bashing of the President of the United States.
Craig has "turned" in the way that meat turns in the refrigerator. There's no going back once it's spoiled. If you continue to watch the show, I'll bet that the Bush/Republican bashing only gets worse. There's no other possibility.
But I really don't care. I DID quit Craig Ferguson.
Your post is so true. It's a Jump the Shark moment. He'll get patted on the back by all of his H'wood friends and it will get worse. When I did tune into him, I was kind of happy that he didn't get all political.
Yeah, me too. But that brief candle has blown out and he's mucking around on the dark side with no exit.
I just rewatched the tape and not ONE word against Bush was said between Shatner and Ferguson. Are you people that ignorant or just like to post lies? There was a comedian named Richard Kind on who said that W was the smartest President ever and Craig's eyes got big and he said "ok". Is this what you people call bashing?
If you can't base things on the truth, then who do you expect to believe anything else you post here.
