The marriage of TV icon Heather Locklear and rock star Richie Sambora seemed to be a match made in heaven for the last 11 years.
"By all accounts, they were a perfect couple," said Jamie Bufalino, senior editor at People magazine. "Many of their friends envied their relationship." This week's People magazine sheds light on why the Locklear-Sambora marriage didn't last.
"Heather happened upon an e-mail, sent to Richie Sambora, from a woman they both knew," Bufalino said. "And contained in the e-mail were provocative pictures."
According to sources quoted in People, Locklear was "absolutely devastated" by her digital discovery.
She filed for divorce, blindsiding Sambora. Hours after she filed, Sambora, still unaware of the breakup, gave an interview to ABC News Radio and called the report of the split "completely untrue."
Sambora denies any marital indiscretion. But one thing is certain, Locklear isn't the first woman to sneak a peek at her husband's e-mail. According to research done by Symantec, an information security firm, 40 percent of women say they would access their partner's e-mail account if they suspected cheating.
Snooping is OK in some situations, says relationship expert Bethany Marshall.
"If you snoop because of petty insecurities or jealousy, that's a violation," she said.
But, she added, if there's a "serious infraction," such as your partner staying out all night or if there are unexplained bills, "then by all means launch a full-scale investigation."
Come on, Heather. You married a dirt bag rocker. And you're surprised by this?
Didn't you learn from Tommy Lee.
Something wrong with Heather's ability to reason.
LOL!
I like the way you think!
My ex-hubby that cheated on me was driving down the street coming home from one of his all-nighters as I threw a match onto his complete wardrobe piled in the driveway that I had just soaked with lighter fluid. That was soooo much fun!
Damn girl! I like your style.
All I found was a file cabinet full of emails, letters, skanky pictures etc from his girlfriends. ~~sigh~~
She was obviously suspicious already in order to "snoop". A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!
There was probably other things. Smiles at a party, a remark there, a strange phone number there, a story that didn't add up....looking back, the signs are always there.
I doubt that Heather just opened up an email and saw a provocative picture and said that's it were *DIVORCED* if that were the case many women would be single thinking there husband b/f hasn't looked at Internet porn, thier is more to this story than just a racy email...
before this thread gets out of hand. . .
I will celebrate my 30th anniversary this year. MY wife is a gem: I was diagnosed with a virilent brain tumor about a year and a half ago.
She stuck by me and shouldered the burden without a complaint. So, here's to true love and faithful marriages.

Why in God's name would anyone cheat on Heather Locklear?
"Heather Be Thy Name..."
Good for you!!! (High-fiving computer screen)
Good for you. I would think my wife would do the same. And rightfully so if I ever did something that stupid.
It amazes me how disposable relationships are when it comes to these Holywood "elites".
Heather Locklear and I share a common great-great-great grandfather, Duncan Locklear. I do not know what degree of cousin that makes us, but I've always hoped it's in the "kissing cousins" range!
"Why Richie, why? You've got to be a major idiot...you cheated on THIS?"
So True! And I'm a female! But, any idiot who's gotta keep looking when he has her, deserves to be dumped on his arse!
Hear Hear!
Tsk, and Heather's a Republican, too...she's too good for him!
Some chicks dig the bad boy thing in hopes of taming it.
