The most devastating effect of the Indy-Pitt playoff game was when Peyton overruled Dungy and went for it on fourth down. Dungy lost his authority, and I seriously think he entertained thoughts of quitting after that game, precisely because of Peyton's actions. Plus, Edgerrin James is gone. I think Indy is coming down to Earth, big-time next year.

I don't think that happened. Dungy said after the game that they were going for it all along, but the kicking team got a little excited and started onto the field. manning, who is listening to the coaches via the headphone in his helmet, knew that dungy had decided to go for it, and motioned the kicking team back off the field.

he didn't overrule dungy; he just knew what the play was before the special teams players because he was wired.
