My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The Lighthouse
High atop a craggy spot
a tower stands with a huge light atop
its ray of light sweeps the fog
to warn all ships at sea of the rocks.
It stands in weather bone chilling cold
not complaining bout the fog,
the rain, nor the snow, and the wild
Nor'Easter wind as she blows.
A steady force in a raging sea
a Ship's Captain knows where it be
and a steadfast hand holds the helm
away from safe looking nooks, that hold
a ship and sends it crashing to its death.
The raw, rugged coast of Maine
where poets were born and became
world renown forever more
from this most Northern State of Maine.
Thank You WoverW for the inspiration.

Thought of the Day
President Lyndon B. Johnson said, "Yesterday
is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours
to win or lose."
Today is Thursday, Feb. 9, the 40th day of 2006 with 325 to
follow. The moon is waxing. The morning stars are Neptune,
Jupiter, Pluto and Venus. The evening stars are Mars, Saturn,
Uranus and Mercury.

The Glen of Glenn Gaul Way The Crack of Dawn
Dawn awakens Glenn Gaul Way, the cracking of the sound of day. Day creatures come to life while night creatures hide from light.
Birds of the night wing their way to their havens, filled with dreaded, hairy mavens. Given to clicking tongue, and rolling eyes, cackling sounds from their withered throats surround the dank, smelly holes of hell inhabited by trolls with pointed toes and an never ending dripping nose.
Eyes a fire, drooling tongues, for them the fun has just begun. News of the baby found in the glenn has them seething to begin, the torture of the little lad, whose toenails he never had.
My Lady feels a shiver in her bones, shaking her to her satin skin, the creepy, crawling, hounds of hell bray in the dungeon on the hill. She knows the evil lurking there, in the mavens unholy share of the peaceful, gorgeous, sun filled glen. They've always been there to remind the denizens of the glenn that evil lives and lives again.
My Lady's keen eye catches a glimpse, of Magic Merlin, hieing up the path, his steady foot of mercury wings, passes by the other things. The fawn feeding in tall grass, shivers from the wrath emanating from Merlin's breathe, as he speeds along to his task. Day birds take to flight as the winds gust around the magician trotting on the ground.
No harm, ho harm, the chant be heard Merlin parsing out every word. No harm, no harm, shall there be to the little rag, wrapped babe there be.
He was born to riches, to rule Glenn Gaul Way the mavens, trolls, will rue the day any harm to come to him, the toe nail less Prince the Wiz brought to them.

Who put the vise on my head?
Who put the sting in my eye?
Who put the spin in my walk?
Runny nose, earache, o my!
And so the doctor calls,
says my xrays said I'm not well,
Pills and sprays are indicated.
O yes, I know, do tell.
Sinus infection part deux!

To: bentfeather; everyone
Dragons, Knights and Damsels in distress,
in those glorious days of yore,
When chivalry reigned, bad manners disdained,
a Gentleman's word, marked his core.
The world of today has a callous Mistress,
with backstabbing cretins galore.
A selfish refrain, is all that remains,
The "Knights of Olde" they deplore.
But, Wait modern Knight, all's not hopelessness,
just knock He said, I'll open the door.
My Holy domain, will your soul contain,
from now, til forevermore.

Let's work on this, okay??
The cave,No light, black, cold. stumbling, falling, pain. Afraid.
Afraid, no light
the cave,black, cold
stumbling, falling. pain
afraid.
Lost, confused, Time unknown, Helpless, Dieing.
Time unkown
helpless, dieing.
confused,lost.
Time unkown.
Just a couple for you to ponder on. ;)
I don't want to rewrite your work.
What you have now are fragments.
We need to work a little structure into them.
Study the other poets here--how they lay the words down.
You are gonna do just fine.

HI!
Glad to see you here. Your word set has interesting possibilities, and imagination can take you many places with just these words. Something else that can help is the use of forms, basically frameworks upon which a poet can structure a poem. If you would like help learning forms (Their easier then they might look), just let me know, and I will be happy to send you a set of basic forms by e-mail so you can use them as you create. Its a challenge, and adds to the fun. The folks here are very good about helping, and we all learn from each other as we go. This makes for a dynamic place to come and meet and share with others who love the work of poetry. You will hear real constructive ideas put forth, and every chance for your poem to be read and appreciated. Welcome aboard, and have fun, the first and best rule of the Lair. (Oh by the way, a poem about the Dragonfly will get you in good with the lady who runs this place, so long as its a poem about how grand they are and not about swatting one!) ;^)

Hmm.
My muse is still wacking my head with strange objects, but she's at least now laughing.
That's a plus!

Of course, had an odd random thought about pilots stealing the blood of the sky.. and aircraft "Steel, the blood of the sky".
Two divergent thoughts.
Nothing coming from them, unless you count the inflatable squeaky mallet my muse walloped me with in response to the thought.
